Mrs. Zora E. Chaffee, 86, of Hiawatha, died early Sunday morning, Dec 20, 1970, at the Hiawatha Community Hospital. She had been a patient there the past three weeks. Mrs. Chaffee was born in Baileyville, Kans., on Oct 9, 1884. She moved to Hiawatha from Hamlin, following the death of her husband C. Wallace Chaffee in 1965. They had been married in Hiawatha on Dec 25, 1907. She had been a member of the Past Noble Grand Club, a former member of the W.R.C. and the Thimble Bee Social Club of Hamlin. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Velma Spangler, with whom she had made her home the past three years in Hiawatha, and Mrs. Vada Hopper of Hiawatha; five grandsons [names omitted for privacy]; seven great-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held from the Meek Mortuary Chapel at 10:30 o'clock Tuesday morning, Dec 22, with the Rev. Clyde Mosher officiating. Interment will be at the Hamlin Cemetery.
