Harry L Wortz, a prominent resident of Fairfield died from pneumonia at his home Monday morning aged 51 years, 7 months and 23 days.
Mr. Wortz was taken ill two weeks ago while working at the Maria Furnace grit mill and his illness developed first into influenza and then into pneumonia. He lived almost his entire life on his farm one mile west of Fairfield until two years ago when he moved into the village to take up works in the mill at Maria Furnace. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Preston Weikert, who lives near Fairfield, and Mrs. Ethel Landis, at home; two sons, Luther and Lawrence Wortz, who was discharged from the army several months ago, both at home; his father and mother, Mr. And Mrs. George W Wortz, of Hanover, and two sisters, Miss Gertrude Wortz, of Hanover, and Mrs. Arthur Spangler, of near Fairfield. Funeral was on Wednesday services by Rev. W S Bonnell, pastor of the Fairfield Lutheran Church, and interment at Fairfield.
