South Korean Politician. He served as the 20th Prime Minister of South Korea from December 27, 1990 to May 24, 1991. He graduated from Seoul National University and received a doctorate in political science from New York University. In 1990, he became the chief of staff for President Roh Tae-woo, but later that year, was appointed prime minister. He went on to serve in this capacity until May of 1991, when he stepped down. He later was elected to the National Assembly in 1992 and served as president of Seoul Digital University from 2002 to 2005. He died after a battle with blood cancer.
