Nordhoff Cemetery Book 1 1870-1900 by Patricia L. Fry with Dennis Mullican:
"Willour' Devillo - Died May 16, 1900, of heart disease at about 50 years of age. Mr. Willour was prone to heart ailments and had been sick for quite a while. He had a ranch in the Sespe and sometimes worried about living so far from civilization in case he became ill. He hadn't been feeling well and decided to go to town. While walking between the post office and Blumberg's Hotel, he was stricken and died. Willour was a Union soldier, having served with Company H, 8th Regiment of the Michigan Volunteer Infantry. He received a pension of $10 a month for his service. He was evidently on of the youngest to have served in the war, having been just 12 or 13 years old. Mr. Willour is buried in the central-east section along the fence."
