The son of Jerome Leonard Sherrer II and Della May (Chaffee) Sherrer. He married Wilma L. Feldmann Oct 05, 1940 in Hamlin, Ks.

                         Deaths
    J. Leonard Sherrer, 78, of rural Hiawatha, died early Sunday morning, December 11, 1988, at Hiawatha Community Hospital, where he had been a patient since November 29.
    He was born near Hiawatha August 10, 1910, the son of Jere L. and Dela Chaffee Sherrer. He farmed in this area most of his life until he retired in 1983.
    Mr. Sherrer was a member of Masonic Lodge #35, A.F.&A.M. and B.P.O.E. #1741 Elks Lodge, both of Hiawatha.
    He was married to Wilma L. Felmann October 5, 1940, at Hamlin. She survives at the home.
    Also surviving are a son, Jere Sherrer, Boise, Idaho; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Judy) Blanton, Topeka; five grandchildren and three great-grandsons.
    Funeral services are planned for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 14, from the Casselman-Meek Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold R. Wolf officiating. Interment will follow at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Hiawatha. Masonic commital services will be conducted by the Masonic Lodge #35, A.F.&A.M.
