THE GETTYSBURG TIMES May 19, 1952

Mrs. Mattie E Johns, 82, Steinwehr Avenue extended, widow of William H Johns, died Sunday at 5:15 at the Warner Hospital from infirmities of age. She had been in ill health for the last month and was admitted to the hospital two weeks ago.
She was born in Fairfield, a daughter of the late Daniel and Sarah Wortz Musselman. For the last 19 years she resided in Gettysburg. Her husband died November 15, 1951. Mrs. Johns was a member of
St. James Lutheran Church.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Lula A Foller, Washington, D.C.; a niece, Mrs. Harvey Spangler, Riverdale, Md., and a number of other nephews and nieces.
Funeral services Wednesday at 10:00 at the Bender Funeral Home conducted by the
Rev. Dr. Ralph R Gresh. Interment in the Fairfield Union Cemetery.

"WEDDING AT FAIRFIELD.

At the home of the bride in Fairfield, this county, Charles E.Emig, of Hanover, a well-known and popular conductor on the Western Maryland Railroad, and Miss Mattie, daughter of Daniel Musselman, were united in marriage at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon. The ceremony was performed by Rev.D.W.J.Shearer, of the Lutheran church of Fairfield, and was witnessed by a number of relatives and friends of the contracting parties..

After the conclusion of the ceremony, congratulations were tendered and a wedding dinner served. The bride was attired in cream silk trimmed with lace and ribbon, and carried Marecheil Neil roses and carnations. The ushers were Charles and Gleason Musselman, brothers of the bride. The bridal party left on the 3:20 train on a wedding trip to Baltimore. Upon their return they will reside in Hanover.".
