He was a Captain from Massachusetts during the Revolutionary War.∼In 1762 he accepted a commission from Robert Moncton as First Lieutenant in a company of foot militia of the province of Amenia in Dutchess County and in deeds executed in 1764 and 6 he claimed Amenia as his place of residence. In 1776 he was appointed Captain of the 14th Company in the First Regiment of Militia in Berkshire County, whereof Mark Hopkins in Colonel, and in 1777 was commissioned Justice of the Peace for Berkshire County.
