I began visiting family cemeteries with my dad over 30 years ago. I loved his stories of the lives of the people of the small, rural community where he grew up. I started actively researching some time later when I began helping my mom document the family history. I still remember how I felt when I held my great-grandfather's actual marriage license and saw his signature, written by his own hand.
After I had researched and recorded all the family cemeteries, I began to adopt other cemeteries in my area to document. I work with one local cemetery at a time, focusing on historic (pre-1940) graves. I am happy to revisit any of my project cemeteries for photo requests, but please remember that sometimes a photo request can't be fulfilled because the grave is unmarked.
God Bless!
