Bio
BETHEL CHURCH SITE. Of the 603 memorials in Bethel's cemetery, 103 are infants to age 7; there are 67 military memorials (of which 25 are Civil War). Would be glad to furnish anyone with further pictures of a Bethel memorial and e-mail those directly to you. A few markers are broken and others are fast becoming unreadable. Anyone interested in preserving damaged and worn family markers should not hesitate to contact me.
If I come across a DUPLICATE I most always send a notification ... my assumption is that you would want to know. The same is true for errors.
As someone from find-a-grave observed, "Everyone deserves to be remembered", so I typically create a memorial and attach a DEATH CERTIFICATE when a marker is absent as evidence of the person and burial location. Death certificates can be wrong, but I have found them to be reliable much of the time on burial locations.
I have noticed that some managers do not want DEATH CERTIFICATES added to their memorials. The suggestion seems to be that one should send the info from the death certificate through the "suggest other info tab" and it will be added. I am finding since the addition of the automatic update for names, dates, and links that some managers are not checking their other suggested info tabs as in the past, which means the info may or may not be added. If I mistakenly post one on your memorial, you have my apology upfront; just let me know and I'll remove it.
To the MANAGERS that have responded and continue to respond to my numerous edits, please accept my gratitude.
Since find-a-grave limits the number of PHOTOS that can be attached to any one memorial, if you need A PHOTO removed to make room, just ask.
While walking through Oconee Memorial Gardens, I came across this inscription on a child's marker: "It is no small thing to have enjoyed the sun".
