PROMINENT SHERMAN AUTO MAN DIES SUDDENLY

Sherman, Texas, Nov. 5

D. W. Gulick, prominent in business in Sherman for the last twenty-five years, died at his home, 820 North Crockett Street, at 10:45 o'clock Monday morning, about thirty minutes after being stricken at his desk at the North Texas Motor Company.

Mr. Gulick was recently confined to his home by a serious illness but had improved. Shortly before becoming ill at his place of business Monday morning, he was making preparations to drive to Sadler, in the northwestern part of Grayson County, on business.

About nine years ago Mr. Gulick aided in organizing the North Texas Motor Company and was made manager as well as president of the company. He continued an insurance business for a time after assuming his active duties with the new firm, but several years ago gave his entire time to thee management of the North Texas Motor Company.

Mr. Gulick was married to Miss Lillian Dorchester about twenty-five years ago. He is survived by a son, Dorchester, and a daughter, Miss Margaret Gulick, and his wife; a brother John Gulick of Dallas; and sisters, Mrs. Sam Hayes of Houston, wife of the Rev. Sam Hayes; Mrs. William Clarkson, and Mrs. J. H. Beal of Corsicana.

Mr. Gulick was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and on the board of that church. He was a member of the board of trustees of Austin College, a position he had held for several years.

He was serving a second term as a member of the City Council and was an active and interested member of that board, alive to all community civic and social needs. He was one of thee active members of the Sherman Rotary Club, a member of the Elks and of the Masonic order.
