Jemison – Holmes.

Macon, Ga., June 8 – (Special) – The announcement of the approaching wedding of Professor Edward T. Holmes, of Macon, to Miss Elizabeth Jemison, of Birmingham, as been received with interest in this community. Professor Holmes has held the chair of Latin in Mercer several years and is widely known. He has large numbers of friends here and at Tennille, his boyhood home. Miss Jemison belongs to one of Alabama’s distinguished families. The date of the wedding has not been made known.

Mrs. Edward T. Holmes Buried in Alabama.

Mrs. Edward T. Holmes of Atlanta, formerly of Macon, died in an Atlanta hospital last Sunday and was buried in LaFayette, Alabama, Macon friends have learned.
Mrs. Holmes was the widow of Professor Holmes who taught at Mercer University and was president of Gordon Military Academy at Barnesville, and Georgia Military College at Milledgeville. She was before her marriage Miss Elizabeth Jemison of Birmingham, Alabama. She is survived by one son, Edward T. Holmes, Jr.
