Born March 22, 1949, in Red Bluff, Calif., to Cyrl and Addie Hendershott McDermid, he married Doneita Gohring on Sept. 6, 1986, in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving is one sister, Connie (and Robert) Arnold of Mason City.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a cart pusher at Wal-Mart in Pekin at the time of his death and formerly worked in maintenance at Pekin Mall.
He was a member of Peoria Outreach Ministries.
Graveside services will be at Lakeview Cemetery.
