Funeral services were held at the family residence, 845 Unadilla Street, Monday afternoon for Harry V. Balcom, 64, resident of Shreveport for the past 18 years and well-known insurance man, who died in a local sanitarium Sunday morning after an illness of six weeks. Interment was in Forest Park cemetery under the direction of the Osborn funeral home. Honorary pallbearers were employees of the local agency of the New York Life Insurance Company with which Mr. Balcom was affiliated. The deceased is survived by his widow, the former Miss Isa Bolinger, one son, Harry V. Balcom, Jr., of Shreveport, one daughter, Mrs. Robert Draughon Crowell, Jr. of Long Leaf, La.; one brother, Asher P. Balcom, Natick Mass. and one grandson. The Times, Shreveport, Louisiana, Tuesday, December 15, 1936 .
