My great grandmother, a fraternal twin, was the daughter of an Italian immigrant, Agostino Solari, and a Spanish descendant of Pablo Antonio de Cota, Maria Refugia de los "Mercedes" Cota, who was born in Santa Barbara, Alta California. Eva was born at home in San Buenaventura, California along with 10 other siblings. From an early age, she was sent to a private Catholic "convent" school near Pasadena, California. She became quite good at canvas oil painting and playing the "pump" organ. She was very generous and very loving, according to my father and aunt. She loved her children and grandchildren quite dearly. She was well known in San Bueanventura and Santa Barbara, as was her husband, and later, her children.
