Rites Arranged For Former Bank Cashier S. V. Barton Served Castle Shannon for 24 Years. Funeral services lor Samuel V. Barton, 76, retired Castle Shannon banker, will be held at 2 p. m. tomorrow in the Laughlin Funeral Home, Castle Shannon. Burial will be in Mt Lebanon Cemetery. Mr. Barton died Saturday in his home at 3726 Poplar Street, Castle Shannon. He had retired in 1947 after 24 years as cashier of the First National Bank there. A native of Irvington, IL, he lived in Crafton from 1905 to 1924, and since then in Castle Shannon. He was graduated from Valparaiso University in 1899, was a member of the American Institute of Bankers, and taught the Men's Bible Class at the Methodist Church. He belonged to Crafton Lodge 653, F. and A. M.; Cyrus Royal Arch Chapter 280; Chartiers Commandery 78; the Rotary Club; Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, and was active in the Boy Scouts. He also was a charter member of Social 36 in Crafton. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Jennie Farrand Barton, and a daughter, Miss Ruth Jeannette Barton. Friends are being received at the funeral home.
