Ralph Alvin Dorchester of San Antonio, TX passed away Friday August 3, 2001. He was born February 4, 1914 in San Antonio to Ralph Miner Dorchester and Willie Hazel Sims Dorchester. Following graduation from Breckenridge High School in 1932, he developed an interest in the field of electronics that resulted in a 34 year career with the International Business Machines Corporation where he won numerous awards as a Customer Engineer, Systems Engineer and Marketing Manager before retiring in 1975. He was co-founder of the San Antonio Chapter of the IBM Quarter Century and served as President for two years. Ralph was a life long hobbyist who built and raced sailboats and model airplanes with his sons. He will be remembered for his devotion to family, work, ethics, integrity and generosity.
