Educator. He was a Shakespearean scholar. He was the son of Horace Howard Furness and continued the New Variorum Edition of Shakespeare's works which his father had begun. Father and son collected a Shakespeare library which included all of the folios and many of the quartos originally published. The collection is now located at the University of Pennsylvania. He also served as a director of the Edwin Forrest Home for retired actors. More coming!
