María Juana Inocencia Reyes y Domínguez was born at Monterey, Alta California, New Spain, where she was baptized in the Presidio Chapel (San Carlos) December 28, 1786 (SC Baptism 01251). She was the daughter of José Juan Francisco [Diaz y] Reyes and María del Carmen Domínguez y German. She married the widower José Maximo Alanís at Mission San Gabriel February 2, 1818 (SG Marriage 01460). Juana died at Los Angeles and was buried in the [Old] Calvary Cemetery on July 14, 1858.
