Obituary:
Mr. and Mrs. John C. Rogers received word this week of the death of their daughter-in-law, Mrs. J.W. Rogers at Tulsa, which occurred on Monday afternoon. The following account of her death is taken from a Tulsa paper: Mrs. Frances May Rogers, 42 years old, wife of Dr. J.W. Rogers, died Monday afternoon at the home, 1328 East 27th Street, after a lingering illness. Her health began to fail more than a year ago. Mrs. Rogers was born in Paris, Texas, and moved with her family to Pauls Valley, Okla., early in her childhood. Her father, J.M. Dorchester, who died last December, was postmaster at Pauls Valley for 14 years. Her mother, Mrs. May Dorchester, still resides there. In 1912, Mrs. Rogers was graduated from the University of Oklahoma, where she had become a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She was married to Dr. Rogers at Pauls Valley and came to Tulsa with him in 1914. She was an active member of the Trinity Episcopal church here and was strongly interested in the activities of the Parent-Teacher association and other organizations for the welfare of children. She was a member of the College club. Besides the husband and mother, she is survived by a son, James Winston Jr., and three daughters, Frances May, Margaret Miner and Joan Southwick Rogers, all of the home; two brothers, C.M. Dorchester of Shreveport, La., and Sam G. Dorchester, Oklahoma City. Funeral services were conducted from the Trinity Episcopal church at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon by the Rev. E.H. Eckel, Jr., pastor. Burial was directed at Memorial Park by the Mowbray-Manning funeral home.
