John Charles Suffia, age 89, died in his St. Helena home Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003. He was surrounded by members of his family.
Mr. Suffia loved outdoor activities. Whether hunting and fishing, hunting mushrooms, gardening, camping or attending a rodeo, he lived to be outdoors. He enjoyed sharing his trout catch with Father Brinkle of the St. Helena Catholic Church.
Mr. Suffia is survived by his children, daughters Judi Requera of Sacramento and Janice Rudloff and husband Leland of Dixon, and a son, Robert Suffia and wife Marie of Dixon. He is also survived by his brother, Leo Suffia of Washington; a sister, Leona De Chiaro of Clovis; his grandchildren, Donald Requera and family, Ronald Requera, John Requera, Travis Rudloff, Kimberly Donaldson and family and Michael Suffia and family; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Lillian Ann Suffia on Sept. 10, 2001.
Friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003, at 2 p.m. at St. Helena Catholic Church, corner of Tainter and Oak streets, in St. Helena, the Reverend Father John Brinkle celebrant Friends may call for visitation hours Tuesday, Sept. 3, between 3 and 7 p.m. at Richard Pierce Funeral Service, 1660 Silverado Trail in Napa.
The family has suggested memorial contributions to Hospice of Napa Valley, 3299 Claremont Way, Napa, CA 94558.
